Our Youth Programs
The Optimist Club of Moorefield is devoted to our community and
in “Bringing out the Best in Kids” through our programs.
Here is just a small taste of the Youth Programs we've held over the years...
Santa Claus Parade
Each year jolly old Saint Nick visits our little village. Young and old alike look forward to the floats, lights, and a glimpse of the big man himself.
Fishing Derby
An annual tradition held at Cozen's Pond. A great day of spending some time with nature. What could be better than dipping your line, followed by trophies, prizes and hot dogs.
Bicycle Rodeo
A fun day of showing off your bicycle skills, while learning about safety. With a special visit from our local police and prizes for all. Top it off with trophies and our world famous hot dogs.
Swimming Lessons
Providing access to swimming lessons is our longest running program. Since it's inception we have provided financial support and transportation services for hundreds of youth.
Stuff we've built
Our club has been actively building a better community since 1969. There is no better way to show our pride in our community than by swinging a hammer and sweating the details.
Donations we've Made
Just a small sample of some of the direct donations we've made over the years. Each year we direct some of our funds to financially support local youth programs.
Oratorical & Spelling Bee
Another long standing tradition, and a chance for our local youth to show off their skills.
Respect for Law
Halloween
Fundraisers shouldn't be boring...
Sure, the events we hold are designed to raise funds to allow our club to provide the youth and community programs. But boring they are not. Here are just a few samples of the fundraising events we've held over the years.
With a smile and a laugh or two, our members work hard to build a better community.
